Jaxon was the biggest restaurant at the AT&T Discovery District.
In 2021, Dallas Morning News architecture critic Mark Lamster called AT&T's Discovery District 'a mini Times Square.'
Jaxon will leave the development because the management company wasn’t able to come to terms with AT&T, says Kevin Lillis, CEO of Hospitality Alliance, the company that operates Jaxon. With its closure, Hospitality Alliance will also no longer operate the neighboring food hall. A spokesperson for AT&T explained the closure a little bit differently, saying that the Discovery District “can be even better” with some operational changes. They’re already looking for the next operator to take over Jaxon and reinvent it as a new restaurant. From the start, the AT&T Discovery District was almost universally praised for its potential. A giant media wall has the vibrancies of Times Square and Las Vegas.
