A Fox News poll reveals President Biden concludes his presidency with low job approval and unfavorable personal ratings, largely attributed to voter dissatisfaction with the economy. The poll highlights the struggles many Americans face financially, with a majority feeling they are falling behind. Biden's handling of the economy is criticized across the political spectrum, contributing to the Democrats' electoral losses in 2024.

President Biden concludes his presidency with unfavorable job approval and personal ratings, mirroring the persistent voter dissatisfaction with the state of the economy. A recent Fox News poll reveals a stark reality: nearly twice as many Americans believe the Biden administration has negatively impacted the economy compared to those who perceive it as beneficial, with 52% reporting a decline versus 28% noting an improvement.

Furthermore, a staggering 89% of voters express extreme or significant concern regarding inflation, an increase from 83% observed at the outset of his term in 2021. Overall, 70% characterize the economy as being in poor shape, a slight improvement from the 84% who held this view in July 2022, but a return to the sentiment prevalent at the beginning of his presidency.Despite presiding over what many consider the strongest post-pandemic economic recovery globally and enacting historic infrastructure investments projected to generate millions of new jobs over the next decade, voters seem unconvinced. Democratic pollster Chris Anderson, whose firm Beacon Research conducts Fox News polls alongside Republican Daron Shaw, acknowledges this disconnect, stating, 'Despite presiding over the strongest post-pandemic economic recovery in the world and making historic investments in infrastructure that will produce millions of new jobs over the next decade, voters clearly judged Biden’s efforts on the economy as counterproductive.' He adds, 'Time will tell if history judges him differently.'Adding to the economic woes, only 13% of voters feel they are making financial headway, while a concerning 42% believe they are falling behind. This sense of economic struggle is amplified among Democrats, with twice as many now reporting they are falling behind financially compared to June 2021. The economy's performance is also a major source of dissatisfaction across the political spectrum, with nearly 60% of Democrats, 80% of Republicans, and 70% of independents expressing negative sentiments about its current state. Shaw points out the implications for the Democrats, stating, 'If elections are mostly about how voters think the incumbent party handled the economy, it’s easy to see why the Democrats lost the 2024 election.' He further observes, 'Unfortunately for Biden, he continues to be ineffective at making the case that his policies have improved the bottom-line, even among his base.'Biden departs the White House with a 42% job approval rating, just two percentage points above his record low. While this approval figure falls short of his predecessors Obama (57%), Clinton (62%), and even Bush (34%), it surpasses Trump's 45% approval at the end of his first term. Biden's highest approval rating, 56%, was recorded six months into his presidency in June 2021, while his lowest, 40%, was reached at three distinct points during his term. The average job performance rating for his entire presidency stands at 44% approval versus 55% disapproval. As for his personal image, Biden's favorability rating has declined significantly since his election. While 59% of voters held a favorable view of him at the end of 2020, this has now fallen to 40%, with a corresponding increase in unfavorable ratings to 59%. This places him less popular than his predecessors Trump, Obama, Bush, and Clinton at the end of their respective terms. Notably, Trump enjoys a favorable rating of 50%, mirroring his unfavorable rating, indicating a deeply polarized public perception
