President Biden leaves office facing negative job and personal approval ratings, with voters expressing deep dissatisfaction with the state of the economy. A new Fox News poll reveals that a majority of Americans perceive the economy as being in poor shape, while a significant number believe the Biden administration has worsened the situation. Inflation concerns remain high, and a substantial portion of voters report falling behind financially.

President Biden concludes his term with disapproval ratings overshadowing his job performance. A recent Fox News survey reveals a stark economic outlook, with nearly twice as many voters perceiving the Biden administration's impact on the economy as negative (52%) compared to positive (28%). Eighty-nine percent of voters express extreme or high concern regarding inflation, a figure that has surged from 83% at the commencement of his presidency.

The majority (70%) deem the overall economy to be in a poor state, albeit an improvement from the peak recorded in July 2022 (84%) but mirroring the sentiment observed at the outset of his administration (69%).\Despite presiding over a robust post-pandemic economic recovery globally and spearheading historic infrastructure investments projected to generate millions of new jobs in the ensuing decade, voters have largely judged Biden's economic stewardship as counterproductive, according to Democratic pollster Chris Anderson. Anderson, whose firm Beacon Research conducts Fox News polls in collaboration with Republican Daron Shaw, acknowledges the historical perspective: 'Time will tell if history judges him differently.'\Adding to the economic woes, only 13% of voters report making financial headway, while a substantial 42% feel they are falling behind. This sentiment is particularly pronounced among Democrats, with three times the number expressing a sense of financial decline compared to four years ago. Moreover, Democrats are twice as likely to report falling behind financially today (38%) than in June 2021 (19%). A significant 60% of Democrats, along with 80% of Republicans and 70% of independents, concur that the economy's current state is only fair or poor. Shaw, the Republican pollster, suggests that if elections hinge on voters' perceptions of the incumbent party's economic performance, the Democrats' 2024 electoral loss becomes understandable.\Biden's approval ratings remain at a precarious 42%, a mere two points above his record low, underscoring the public's dissatisfaction. This approval rating falls short of that of his predecessors: Barack Obama (57%) and Bill Clinton (62%) at the end of their respective terms, but surpasses George W. Bush (34%). Donald Trump garnered 47% approval at the conclusion of his first term. Biden's highest approval rating of 56% occurred six months into his presidency (June 2021), while his lowest approval, 40%, was recorded on three separate occasions: July 2022, November 2023, and October 2024. His average job rating for the entirety of his presidency stands at 44% approve versus 55% disapprove
