Prosecutors agreed to seek a penalty of no more than 5 years against Scott Berkett, 25, for the murder-for-hire scheme, according to the plea agreement.

A Beverly Hills man accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill a woman he briefly dated has agreed to plead guilty to a federal charge, court papers show.

Berkett met the woman online, and she flew to Los Angeles to meet him in late October 2020.
