The bakery has been family owned and operated for four generations.
on Sunday it will be soon close its Ridgefield outpost. The bakery’s last day of operation will be Monday, Oct. 14. A specific reason for the closure was not provided.
“Our time at 824 Broad Avenue in Ridgefield has come to an end. As sad as we are, we will continue to do what we do best; carry-on the recipes of my great grandparents, Gabriele and Josephine,” current owner Stasia Rispoli wrote in the post. “As a fourth generation Rispoli, I promise to carry on with my crew: the legacy, the quality and our award-winning products at our Emerson location.”The bakery will transfer operations to its other location, Rispoli Pastry Shop in Emerson.
“Our Emerson location will be our forever home,” the post continued. “We look forward to seeing many familiar faces at those doors, along with new ones. God always has a plan, and we are trusting in him as we navigate this new chapter, and say goodbye to this storefront; although we are not without heavy hearts.”
The Rispoli family opened their first bakery in 1937 in West New York. Stasia’s great-grandparents Gabriele and Josephine moved the business to Ridgefield in its early years. Stasia Rispoli compared that decision to the one her family just had to make regarding Ridgefield. “Just as my grandparents, and great-grandparents, had to trust that closing the West New York store was the right thing to do at the time, to evolve as they relocated to Ridgefield,” Rispoli said. “We are trusting that our loyal customers will continue to allow us to server them at our Emerson location.”
