The re-signing of Keenum certainly raises questions about the Bears’ intentions with quarterback Tyson Bagent, who served as Caleb Williams’ back-up during the 2025 season. Bagent is set to count for $4.75 million against the Bears’ salary cap in 2026 as his two-year contract kicks in for the campaign. There have been rumblings the Bears have been approached about potentially trading Bagent to another team, but the team has been hesitant to pull the trigger after working so hard on his development since acquiring him as an undrafted free agent.
