Oakland Tech basketball player Marisela Somvichian has been named the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Feb. 28-March 6 after she received 14,982 votes at the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.
Leigh soccer play America Frias finished second and Priory basketball player Valentina Saric took third.The 5-6 guard led Bulldogs with 19 points in 72-34 win over Priory in the semifinals of CIF NorCal Regional.
