Oakland Tech has won 10 straight games while La Salle is riding a 23-game winning streak.
The Oakland Tech girls basketball team will go for its second state title over the past four years, — its second in the last two years in which a state championship has been contested — when the Bulldogs play La Salle of Pasadena on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
“I told the kids it would be a shame not to finish this off, so they might as well give 100%,” Oakland Tech coach Leroy Hurt said. “I know they’re not an overly tall team and that they’ve been scoring in the 50s,” Hurt said Tuesday evening. “I’ll get on the NFHS and watch some of their games.”
