“We are a community that has felt the sting of climate change,” Santa Rosa mayor Chris Rogers told the . “We don’t want to use our land, which is very valuable, and our staff time, which is also very valuable, on the infrastructure of the past.”last week, Novato resident and climate change activist Silke Valentine urged the council to move forward with the ban."To prevent the worst impacts of the climate crisis, we must move quickly beyond gasoline to clean alternatives. Climate change is an existential threat," Valentine wrote.
