A barangay in Manila will be placed under two-day hard lockdown on Monday amid the shifting of Metro Manila to general community quarantine (GCQ).

Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Saturday night said Barangay 847 in Pandacan will undergo a hard lockdown starting 12 a.m. of June 1 until 11:59 p.m. of June 2 due to the request of its barangay chairman.

Domagoso said the city has to impose the measure on Barangay 847 following the recording of four new confirmed cases and six suspected cases in the area. However, the order exempts the following: health workers, military personnel, service workers , utility workers , essential workers , barangay officials, and media practitioners accredited by the Presidential Communications Operations Office and the Inter-Agency Task Force.
