The Baldwin County Commission chamber was filled with those for and against new proposed subdivision regulations in the county. With a goal of providing clarity and consistency across all new developments, it’s a task which has been in the works for many months and saw a vote tabled back in October to allow for more public input.
The revisions to the regulations are 159 pages long, addressing everything from lot sizes – versus – road widths, required green spaces and sewer and stormwater runoff. Cost was a focal point for those opposing the new regulations, some saying a YES vote by the Commission would mean higher home prices to customers…something Commissioner Jeb Ball took issue with.
