Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, creators of the Back to the Future franchise, have emphatically shut down any hopes for a fourth movie. While Gale playfully expressed frustration with inquiries about 'Back to the Future 4,' both creators reiterated that a sequel is off the table. Zemeckis, however, expressed his strong desire to bring 'Back to the Future: The Musical' to the big screen, despite Universal's lack of enthusiasm.
Speaking backstage at the Saturn Awards after receiving the George Pal Memorial Award , Gale — who co-wrote all three Back to the Future films with filmmaker— wasted no time in shooting down any potential ideas of a fourth movie, and had strong words for anyone who kept asking him about a Back to the Future 4.
“People always say, ‘When are you going to do ‘Back to the Future 4’ and we say, ‘F— you,’” Gale said, before mentioning the Back to the Future-inspired Broadway musical that is currently on tour across the world. “So, my God, ‘Back to the Future,’ I’m going to be doing it for the rest of my life.”“You know, we have to say, ‘There are different things that might work.
