Youth football team Whitletts Vics 2010s have been doing their bit for those serving abroad - by donating shoeboxes filled with a variety of items to put a smile on the soldiers' faces.

Soldiers serving overseas have been boosted by a fantastic shipment of goodies... all thanks to an Ayrshire youth football team.

Now the shoeboxes have made their way halfway across the world to a brave bunch of soldiers with a special connection to the Ayrshire region.He said: “The captain of our team, Scott Boyle’s Dad, , is currently serving abroad with the 2 Scots.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.

“We came together to donate shoe boxes filled with toiletries, sweets, activities and some personal favourites etc to hopefully lift morale to the men and women who are currently serving. Meanwhile, the Whitletts Vics 2010s team are looking good for the new season already – both home and away.
