A fire ripped through the roof of the property back in 2020 and it signalled the death knell for one of the town’s longest serving independent retailers.

Plans have been unveiled to try to breath new life into a fire damaged building on Ayr ’s High Street.

The World of Art store and gallery, on the ground floor of the premises, was extensively damaged as a result of the late night fire, prompting its eventual closure. The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.And the attic layout has also been revised to “provide additional headroom” over the stair accessing the attic, both to comply with Building Standards.
