His receivers came up with spectacular catches, and Avon’s defensive front established control early Friday night in the Eagles’ 42-21 victory at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

“It was super surreal coming out here,” Good said. “It felt different than the rest of them. Everybody on our team is going to remember this one for the rest of our lives.”Avon now up 14-0 with 1:11 left in the first quarter on St. Ignatius. This Nolan Good to Ty Beerbohm 14-yard TD provided the score.The Eagles never trailed No. 6 St. Ignatius, and Good finished with 197 yards passing after completing 14 of 22 attempts. He also rushed for 64 yards, part of a 432-yard game by Avon’s offense.

Stolarski stopped St. Ignatius standout and Ohio State commit Cody Haddad on a lateral, then hit quarterback Daniel Chalhoub on the following play to end one of the Wildcats’ early drives. “That’s a physical offensive line with a really great back,” Avon coach Mike Elder said of the Wildcats, who feature a Minnesota commit in Grant Washington. “They’ve got a couple of backs, and I thought we shut the run down. So proud of our front seven. I thought the back end, with exception of one play, did a really good job, too.”
