AVON LAKE, Ohio – Dedicated bikers from Avon Lake American Legion Post 211 shared their tradition of wearing red on Fridays with senior citizens in memory of those left behind in other countries.

Commander Mike Schrull said: “RED is an acronym which stands for ‘Remember Everyone Deployed’ and we all wear red on Fridays and will do so until they all come home. It is a military thing.” “It was quite a rewarding experience. Some of the veterans there go back to the Korean War and Vietnam, and there are Purple Heart recipients there. They were overjoyed, they put the shirts on and we all posed for a picture.”
