CINCINNATI - The Consumer Product Safety Commission released a public safety warning for multiple brands and models of sink faucets due to "dangerous lead exposure," especially for children or pregnant women.
The CPSC released the warning on May 14 in regards to four models of Chinese-made kitchen and bathroom sink models sold on Amazon.com after it learned that lead can leach into the drinking water which could "cause harmful neurological effects" on vulnerable groups like children, infants, and pregnant women.Rainsworth Bathroom Faucet sold by Le Change SANITARY The CPSC reportedly attempted to reach out to the four firms to issue an official recall, but none of the manufacturers agreed. The commission advised customers to stop using the faucets immediately, or if they have to continue using them until they can replace it to run the water for 15 seconds before using or consuming. The organization also said it would be "announcing enforcing actions against additional companies in the coming days," per the release.
