Defence Minister Richard Marles says he will not “speak for France” after questions arose on Frances’ concerns for the AUKUS deal and a possible conflict with China that could emerge from it.

Mr Marles said France’s relationship with Australia is in a “good place” and they see Australia as a “critical partner”.

“We’ve put in an enormous amount of effort, as have they, to rebuild the relationship from where it was 18 months ago”.
