The event brought in more than 78 contestants and raised over $500 for SAGE, an art studio and gallery located in East Austin. Organizer Maile Carballo, a University of Texas senior and SAGE volunteer says it's about bringing some joy and supporting a nonprofit that does incredible work.

Participants were judged on speed, precision, and how close they could get to the curb. To keep things fair, scores were adjusted based on vehicle size. The winner, Erin, delivered a near-perfect performance, parking in just 26.9 seconds with zero centimeters from the curb. He competed four times, doubling his donation with each attempt. Instead of a traditional trophy, the prize reflected the mission behind the event: a handmade pipe cleaner sculpture created by SAGE artist Montrel Beverly. Carballo says the idea was inspired by a similar competition she read about last summer and wanted to bring that same energy to Austin, a city known for embracing the unconventional. The event was organized with help from volunteers, many of them UT students and recent graduates, along with guidance from organizers of similar competitions in other cities.Carballo says, "I hope that more Austinites are inspired by this to bring some more nonsensical fun into the city!
