With the first day of school just one day away, Austin ISD is apologizing after technical glitches left some families scrambling to complete enrollment. Parents have reported several issues, including transfer students being reassigned to their zoned campuses, returning students locked out of the parent portal, and new families unable to finish registration due to login or duplicate account errors.
“We want to sincerely apologize to families who have experienced challenges with the enrollment process,” the district said in a statement. “We know this has been frustrating, and we are working around the clock to resolve issues as quickly as possible.”District officials say families should not panic if problems remain unresolved before school starts. Students approved for transfers should still report to their transfer campuses on the first day. Returning students locked out of the portal are still considered enrolled, and new families having trouble finishing registration will be assisted by campus registrars. Most importantly, AISD says every student will be welcomed at their home campus or approved transfer school on Tuesday, Aug. 19 — as long as they are up to date on their required immunizations. Families still experiencing problems are encouraged to file a help ticket or contact their campus office.
