Aldermen approved the plan from Omega, LLC that includes a 14,200-square-foot building that would include business and professional office space, a light vehicle repair facility and a warehouse, distribution and storage services use.
The Aurora City Council Tuesday night approved a final plan and conditional use for an office, warehouse and vehicle repair building on the city’s far West Side. The building will be on about a three-acre lot at 1995 Melissa Lane, just off Deerpath Road, near the Orchard Road and Interstate 88 interchange. The building fronts onto Melissa Lane, and backs up to I-88.
While the conditional use was approved unanimously, two of 11 aldermen present this week did not vote for the final plan. Ald. Edward Bugg, 9th Ward, voted against the plan, and Ald. John Laesch, at large, abstained. Bugg said the reason he voted no was because during the week, there had been email exchanges about wages that would be paid for the warehouse, mechanic and other jobs at the facility. The developer was said to have come to the City Council meeting prepared to discuss that.
