Auburn will now lose two punters as starter Oscar Chapman has no eligibility remaining
Auburn’s special teams took a hit on Tuesday, as punter Gabe Russo announced his plans to enter the transfer portal in a post on X .
Thank you to Auburn for the past 2 years and the opportunities I was blessed with. With that being said, I plan on entering the transfer portal with three years of eligibility remaining.Russo, a redshirt freshman, spent two seasons at Auburn and was the Tigers' backup punter in 2024. His departure leaves a hole at the position, with starter Oscar Chapman out of eligibility.
Auburn has one punter committed in its 2025 recruiting class, Thompson High School’s John Alan McGuire.
