Auburn cornerback Ro Torrence enters transfer portal.
A 6-foot-4, 200-pounder from Bessemer, Torrence joined the program last season after starting his career at Hutchinson Community College, where he as the NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year for the JUCO national champs. In his lone season on the Plains, Torrence appeared in 10 games and had five total tackles, as well as one pass breakup and a forced fumble.
Torrence was expected to provide depth at corner this season behind projected starters Nehemiah Pritchett and Jaylin Simpson, though this week in practice A.D. Diamond and D.J. James have been receiving second-team reps at corner, while freshman JD Rhym has been an early standout in practices while seeing time at corner and nickel.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
