A matter of hours after one atmospheric river-fueled storm slammed into the Pacific Northwest, another is set to bring more widespread rain and snowfall, according to forecasters.The first storm struck over the weekend and is expected to persist throughout Tuesday morning. By evening, the second storm will arrive, with effects expected to last through to Thursday.
However, powerful systems like this one can transport up to 15 times that amount, according to the NWS.The first storm in the barrage was the most significant producer of precipitation of the season so far, with the next expected to be of similar magnitude, forecasters at AccuWeather said.'Tuesday night through Wednesday, Seattle should pick up an inch to perhaps an inch and one half , while Portland should be around an inch,' Houk said.
