An atmospheric river is bombarding the Pacific Northwest, bringing heavy rain to the valleys, snow to the mountains and strong winds.

. But a soggy weather pattern has set in since, clearing the air and unloading nearly 3 inches of rain.

Between 6,500 and 8,000 feet in elevation, this heavy precipitation will change to snow, with up to three feet near some of the tallest mountain peaks.
