As Washington’s Metro considers mask-only train car, commuters press NJ Transit to test the idea

“I hope it is a signal that NJ Transit is prepared to move forward with the idea, just as riders, over 550 petition signers,, and at least four NJ Transit board members have urged the agency to do,” Reich said. “I have not received any outreach from NJ Transit or elected officials since last week’s board meeting,” Reich said Sunday when asked by NJ Advance Media.asking NJ Transit to designate a mask-only car, similar to the Quiet Cars now on trains. The petition was started after a federal court judge in Florida in April overturned federal regulation requiring masks on public transit.in indoor public transportation settings” in a May 13 advisory.
NJ Transit CEO Kevin Corbett told him “there are a lot of issues with that” and that “people who want to wear them will do it.”
