An Arsenal star has responded to the criticism about his call-up to the Brazil national side for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli was rewarded for his fine start to the season with a call-up for his first-ever World Cup. Former Selecao midfielder Neto was not too pleased with the decision and felt Flamengo's Gabriel Barbosa should have been called up instead."I think this is normal,’ Martinelli told"Some people in Brazil don’t know me, and it’s also normal to say that other players deserved to be there. But I’m pretty cool about it. I think this is normal."And you can be sure that I will do my best for the Brazilian team, in whatever I can help the team I will help.
Martinelli made his debut for Selecao in March this year in a 4-0 win over Chile and went on to make two more appearances.
