Interested buyers of Lily and Barbrook mines in Mpumalanga are increasing pressure for the business rescue practitioners (BRPs) to be suspended and punished by professional bodies for allegedly frustrating the rescue process.
Arqomanzi has repeatedly accused the BRPs – Rob Devereux and Daniel Terblanche – of being biased towards Vantage Goldfields’ campaign not to sell the mines to the company and contributing to the prolonged delay in the reopening of the mines in Louisville near Barberton, Mpumalanga.
“The BRPs continue to act recklessly, unlawfully and inconsistently with their role as the BRPs and have caused the deterioration of the companies by failing to act in the best interest of the companies. “They haphazardly provide reports that have no detailed or relevant information regarding the actual status of affairs of the business rescue process and deliberately continue misleading all affected parties in the business rescue process.”
Terblanche was unwilling to comment in detail. “Apart from confirming that there is no merit to any complaint that SSC may have, I have no comment,” said Terblanche.
