NSTnation: The viral video actually shows the Armed Forces returning to their respective camps after undergoing training, in keeping with the Movement Control Order (MCO), announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on March 16.

“The supposed news that the Armed Forces or army have begun preparations to take over the country is in fact fake news. All parties, especially those who are irresponsible, are advised to stop spreading and sharing immediately,” he said in a statement released earlier today.

The statement added that the viral video actually shows the Armed Forces returning to their respective camps after undergoing training, in keeping with the Movement Control Order , announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on March 16. It added that the MCO has forced the Armed Forces’ top leadership to review operations, training and courses, exercises, administration and logistics.

It said that army training has been postponed for the time being, but that operations to uphold the safety and sovereignty of the country are being carried out as usual. It urged the public to not to be easily influenced by unverified information that could spark concern and panic.
