Some residents avoid returning to their own houses around pick-up and drop-off times
Proposals to stick single yellow lines on a residential road have been met with mixed opinions from residents in the area. Deans Croft in Bramcote is a hotspot for problematic parking due to its proximity to Bramcote College and Bramcote Hills Primary School.
"The trouble is enforcing these things," said one Moor Lane resident - on which the schools sit. "Frankly people don't pay any attention as it is. But it really needs to be definitely no parking on one side on all the roads around here including this one." That couple, who didn't want to be named, were not the only ones who said they deliberately avoided their own home at certain times. One long-standing resident said that when she bought the house, 50 years ago, she imagined it would be "lovely" with a school outside.
The road, which joins Moor Lane to Arundel Drive, is mainly made up of large gardens belonging to the homes of residents on those roads. Ms Turner and her family only moved there in August. "It gets busy, don't get me wrong. But yellow lines would get rid of that flexibility. I don't always want to come onto the driveway because if I do it'll be difficult to get out."
