Pragmata Investigating Holograms
Although the hours on the clock are the same, springtime makes the days feel longer as the sun stays up later and later. This gives us even more daytime hours to enjoy all the new video games that April is bringing, including the long-anticipated sci-fi adventure, Pragmata.
If that's not to your taste, there are plenty of other games of all genres on the calendar! There's something for every type of gamer this month as we enjoy the sometimes chaotic weather of spring. From cozy sims like Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream to the new deckbuilding game Vampire Crawlers from the team behind Vampire Survivors. There's also exciting DLCs for Diablo 4, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and even PowerWash Simulator 2 coming this month, if you want more of what you already know and love. Pragmata's Sci-Fi Adventure Finally Arrives On April 17 After many years of anticipation since its 2020 announcement and initial trailer, Pragmata is finally almost here. Capcom's newest science fiction action adventure features Hugh and his android companion Diana as they try to make their way through a lunar research station and survive. Players will get to control both of the characters at the same time while fighting off hostile AI robots. The game is said to be extremely complex in its programming, which is why it has been delayed so many times since its original plan of 2022. Blending Diana's hacking abilities with Hugh's shooting, and allowing players to enjoy using the dual-character system, required the team to use a lot of trial and error to get everything polished just right for us to enjoy. Pokémon Champions Takes Battling To A New Level As part of Pokémon's big 30th anniversary year, a new battle game is arriving this month for the pocket monsters. Perhaps as a counter to the recent no-combat game, Pokémon Pokopia, which launched in March to strong reviews, this month fans are going to get a battle-focused, turn-based strategy game, Pokémon Champions on April 8th. The multiplayer game will be similar in many ways to Pokémon Stadium and offer arena battling for Pokémon with competitive single and double battles. Pokémon Champions will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles, as well as mobile devices and will offer crossplay between them. Best of all, this new Pokémon game is free-to-start, giving players a chance to try it out before deciding if they want to pay for the optional microtransactions and more. Impressive Action Games Are Coming If you love the fast pace of action games, April 2026 will have lots of variety for you to enjoy within the action genre. Besides the above-mentioned Pragmata, there will also be a cyberpunk thriller narrative action game called Replaced, coming on April 14th. This upcoming title has been gaining a lot of attention recently with its dark themes and cinematic exploration of an alternate 1980s America. Platforming action games coming in April include the beautifully colored ChainStaff and the hauntingly dark Before I Go. Or, if you want something truly unique, there's a new multiplayer team-based brawler game featuring pottery called Kiln that will arrive on the 23rd.
