Two things happened to me in the past few months. First, Apple released the beta of watchOS 11.While the latter was a bit shocking, it shouldn't have been given that I was waiting for the latest vaccine booster and we're in the middle of a summer resurgence of the virus. Still, I was a bit unsure how to proceed with…anything, not having gone through it before. I especially didn't know how to gauge how I was progressing through the sickness.
You can also add the Vitals and Training Load complications to the edges of your watch face…though for some reason you can't click on them to be taken right to the data, you still have to open the Fitness rings app. Hopefully easier access is added before watchOS 11 is released next month.Historically, Apple has only concerned itself with sleep duration when it comes to overnight vitals.
Apple learns over time what typical values look like for you. If any of those metrics seem unusual, you'll see that you've got"outliers" for the previous evening. This is where the watch face complication comes in handy, because those will show up in pink and you can see at a glance that something is off.Apple has this data grouped with Training Load, as typically this will be where the information is most useful.
This being my first round of Covid, it kept me from mentally spiraling. I could see that my blood oxygen was improving and my temperature was decreasing. So while I might have convinced myself that I needed to go get Paxlovid or seek additional care, I could see that I was actually improving and didn’t need to seek out treatment.
