Another Toyota recall affects San Antonio-made Tundra pickup trucks and Sequoia SUVs. The automaker is recalling 22 of its models spanning 33,848 vehicles.

Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling nearly 34,000 vehicles across 22 of its models, including San Antonio -made Sequoia SUVs and Tundra pickup trucks, due to labeling errors regarding the total weight of each car, truck and SUV. Gulf States Toyota , a Houston -based company that distributes Toyota vehicles and parts in five states including Texas , filed the recall with the National Highway Safety Administration late last month.

Notification letters will be mailed by Sept. 16. It includes vehicles manufactured from September 2022 to July. The federal agency acknowledged receipt of the recall report on Aug. 7. Gulf States Toyota blamed the incorrect figures on programming errors that miscalculated the weights of multiple accessory parts.

Last month, Toyota said an earlier recall would result in it paying to replace the engines in nearly 100,000 Tundra pickups that were recalled earlier this year. The Tundra and Sequoia are assembled at a San Antonio plant. The vehicles share the same frame, but the recall didn’t include the Sequoia.
