Southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania brace for 3-5 inches of snow while New York City and surrounding areas anticipate 1-3 inches. Tuesday night's storm will bring all snow, but other systems this week will involve a mix of precipitation.

Following a weekend storm that brought significant snowfall to the tri-state area, another winter weather event is on the horizon. However, this time, the heaviest snow is expected to impact southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A winter weather advisory will be in effect starting at 4 p.m. today for Monmouth and Ocean counties, with a potential for 3 to 5 inches of snow.

While no advisories have been issued for Connecticut, Long Island, New York City, the Hudson Valley, or Hudson and Bergen counties as of 9 a.m., areas south of New York City, extending towards Philadelphia, could see snow beginning between 4 and 7 p.m. For the New York City area, Long Island, north Jersey, the lower Hudson Valley, and the Connecticut shoreline, snow is anticipated to start between 7 and 10 p.m., although accumulations are expected to be significantly less than in southern regions. New York City is likely to receive 1 to 3 inches of snow during the Tuesday night storm. Long Island and lower Westchester County can also anticipate similar amounts. In the majority of the Hudson Valley and all of Connecticut, less than an inch of snow is expected, with some areas possibly experiencing only a light dusting. The most substantial snowfall in the tri-state region is predicted for Ocean County and Monmouth County, where 3 to 5 inches of snow is anticipated. The rest of southern New Jersey can also expect 3 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Central Jersey is likely to receive 1 to 3 inches, while the northernmost areas of the state will see the least amount of snow, with an inch or less expected. This Tuesday night storm will bring all snow. Other weather systems expected throughout the week will involve a mix of snow, rain, sleet, and ice.
