Beto Altamirano raised over $110,000 during the first half of this year — much of which came from himself. That aside, he still outraised the other candidates.

Tech entrepreneur Beto Altamirano ’s campaign touted an impressive fundraising haul of more than $110,000, but left out that nearly two-thirds of that money came from the candidate himself. Altamirano loaned his campaign $50,000, according to a campaign finance report filed Monday. That’s in addition to the $20,000 he reported donating to his campaign.

“This strong investment is a clear indication that San Antonians are ready for change.” District 9 Councilman John Courage, who was the first to announce his mayoral bid in late January, raised $19,317 over that same period. Courage loaned his campaign $25,000. District 8 Councilman Manny Peláez, who made his mayoral campaign official in early April, brought in $46,766. District 6 Councilwoman Melissa Cabello Havrda reported raising $15,800.
