CHINA’S State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang is flying to Manila over the weekend for an official visit, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs said.
He was also appointed to one of the most influential positions in China—as state councilor—last March 2023. A career diplomat, Qin was the Chinese Ambassador to the US at a very tumultuous time of deteriorating bilateral relations between Beijing and Washington DC over trade, Taiwan’s independence and human rights.
