Chinese media reports have confirmed American mountaineer Anna Gutu and a Nepalese guide Mingmar Sherpa have died after avalanches struck the slopes of the Tibetan mountain Shishapangma while two others remain missing. According to state-owned news agency Xinhua, the avalanches struck Tibet’s Mount Shishapangma on Saturday afternoon at 24,934 ft and 26,246 ft in altitude.
