The American Legion partnered with Nuvision Credit Union to hold their sixth annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon Saturday, November 9, at Jack Henry Post 1 in Midtown. The luncheon began at noon, and Nuvision employees and volunteers served lunch alongside workers with the American Legion.

The American Legion partnered with Nuvision Credit Union to hold their sixth annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon Saturday, November 9, at Jack Henry Post 1 in Midtown. The luncheon began at noon, and Nuvision employees and volunteers served lunch alongside workers with the American Legion. During lunch, Nuvision also presented two $1500 donations to the National Warrior Foundation and American Legion Post 34 to support and honor Veterans and active duty Service members.

Alaska has the highest number of veterans per capita of any U.S. State, a fact that is especially relevant on Veteran’s Day, this Monday, November 11. With roughly 56,000 veterans in the state according to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 10.5 percent of Alaska‘s population has served in the Armed forces at some point in their life. This Veteran’s Day, current and retired armed forces members and veteran organizations are honoring the holiday, inviting others to ask about their time in the service.
