Dozens of American college students visited Israel and the United Arab Emirates over the winter break, witnessing first-hand the successes of the historic Abraham Accords . Forty-three undergraduate students from across the country participated in a 10-day trip through the Israel on Campus Coalition’s Geller International Fellowship.
The students met with business leaders, academics, and political leaders to discuss and experience Middle East culture, as well as see firsthand the importance of the Abraham Accords, brokered in 2020 under President-elect Donald Trump. \The Abraham Accords are a historic peace agreement between Israel and the UAE, as well as Bahrain, that were brokered by the U.S. As part of the agreements, the UAE and Bahrain recognized Israel’s sovereignty and established full diplomatic relations. Students who participated in the fellowship met with experts to discuss entrepreneurship, coexistence, and diplomacy under the accords. \The trip provided the students with a deeper understanding of Israel's complexities and a foundation for informed advocacy. They shared their experiences and renewed commitment to peace and understanding.
