American Airlines is bringing new technology to San Antonio International Airport that sounds a literal alarm on passengers trying to cut in line to board.
American Airlines is preparing to sound the alarm on San Antonio International Airport passengers who attempt to cut in line during boarding. In November, the airline announced the rollout of new technology preventing what is sometimes called 'gate lice' — passengers who swarm the gate to try to board before their group is called.

The new software will trigger an audible sound if a traveler scans their boarding pass before their group has been called, American Airlines said. Gate agents will then direct the passenger to rejoin the line with their group once it is called. Airline employees can also override the system with one click if a passenger is boarding with a companion in an earlier group.
