Elder was a wife and mother of two children, ages 13 and 4, and her brother, Dajour Brown, described her as a 'sweetest human' who was passionate about her family and flying. A classmate from Elder's flight attendant training in Charlotte, North Carolina, shared that she was 'very dedicated to being a flight attendant' and 'loved her family tremendously.' The classmate added that Elder was 'very bright, very smart,' and an entrepreneur, with becoming a flight attendant being one of her dreams.
