The commissioners want the agency to release records regarding its spending, including a contract granted to ex-commissioner Jeff Haste’s wife while Haste was in office.
All three of Dauphin County’s commissioners are calling on Visit Hershey & Harrisburg to release records related to its spending, including a consulting contract the tourism agency had with a former commissioner’s wife.
Commissioner Mike Pries, a Republican, joined Democratic Commissioner Justin Douglas at a public meeting Wednesday in pressuring the organization to release the information, which it has repeatedly dodged providing. Commissioner George Hartwick, also a Democrat, told PennLive following the meeting that he has also called on the tourism agency to release the requested documents.
