The Alabama Department of Transportation recognizes that walking and cycling are important elements of a transportation system and is working to provide safe access on the roads ALDOT Manages.
As walking and bicycling have increased across Alabama and the nation - policies, plans, guidelines, and standards have beenCreating a statewide plan will establish a vision for cycling and walking as modes of transportation in Alabama and help guide investment in facilities that make the most of the limited money allotted.
