Texas A&M's Albert Regis comes up big among Aggies' taller defensive linemen
COLLEGE STATION — Anthony Renfro didn’t have to hear the name called on the television to know who’d made one of Texas A&M’s biggest plays last Saturday night against Miami.
“He may not be long, but he has explosion to create that penetration,” A&M coach Jimbo Fisher said. “You can be long all you want, but if you’re long and four feet back … I’d rather be short and four feet up, because of the angles it takes away.Regis, whose parents are from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia and who is deeply proud of his family lineage, was a three-star signee. He now is surrounded by a sea of five-star defensive linemen at A&M.
“And I know I have people beside me who came to do the same thing. … It’s all about the grit you have when it comes to this game.”
