ANCHORAGE , Alaska - A pair of Alaska n standouts captured podium finishes on the opening day of the U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships at Kincaid Park in Anchorage .in the men’s race to start the day, finishing the 10K course in 21 minutes, 39.4 seconds to finish exactly 16 seconds behind race winner John Steel Hagenbuch of Dartmouth University.

Jager is a West Anchorage High School graduate and currently competes for Alaska Pacific University, a powerhouse program in the state. He was the In Thursday’s women’s race, Fairbanks' Kendall Kramer finished second, finishing 11.2 seconds behind race winner Kate Oldham of Montana State University. Kramer finished the 10K race in 24:41.0.
