S., with Schumacher finishing the sprint, finished in 18 minutes and 30.35 seconds behind Norway and ahead of Italy for Alaska’s first medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Schumacher, 25, becomes just the third American man to win a Cross Country Ski Olympic medal and the second Alaskan to do so, behind Kikkan Randall’s gold medal with Jessie Diggins in the same event in 2018.
