Be prepared for bitter cold wind chills to stick around through the day. Other areas favored for wind development will be western parts of the Kenai and the gaps and passes of the mountain ranges. We’ll see today being the coldest, with temperatures slowly warming into the 20s by Sunday. Coastal activity will increase this weekend, with snow and rain looking likely next week. This comes as temperatures are set to warm near or above freezing through next week.An extreme cold warning remains in effect for Skagway and higher elevations through noon today.
