On the 10th death anniversary of Alan Rickman, his wife, Rima Horton, is working with Pancreatic Cancer UK, a charity organization that raises funds for people affected by pancreatic cancer. In an interview with BBC Morning, Horton promoted the cause and paid tribute to her late husband. During their conversation, Horton said that while the people affected by the cancer generally have only three months to live, the Harry Potter star was able to live six months because of chemotherapy. Talking about his untimely death, she said, “He had so much more to give. There were so many more things he could have done.” Sadly, the Die Hard actor passed away on January 14, 2016, in their London home. Now, Horton aims to work with the organization to raise funds to develop a breathalyzer test that could help doctors detect cancer while it is still in an early stage. She pointed out that by the time doctors could confirm the cancer, it would be too late, making it nearly impossible to treat it. So, a breath test like this could give the affected people an opportunity to fight it. In honor of Alan Rickman’s legacy, Pancreatic Cancer UK is conducting a raffle, where the winner will receive a signed Harry Potter book set. Each book is signed by 12 cast members, including Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Matthew Lewis, Jason Isaacs, and others.. All that one has to do is purchase a ticket to enter their name in the lucky draw, which costs £5.
