The Alameda County Board of Supervisors will select a new District Attorney from a pool of 15 applicants following the recall of former DA Pamela Price.
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors will have 15 applicants to choose from when they select the next District Attorney. After the previous District Attorney, Pamela Price, lost a recall election, Chief Assistant District Attorney Royl Roberts is temporarily leading the office. Roberts did not apply for the permanent position. The selection process begins January 16th when supervisors choose finalists from the applicants.
On January 21st, the finalists will be interviewed publicly, followed by deliberation and a final selection on January 28th. The goal is to have the new interim District Attorney in place by February 4th. The chosen individual will serve until the next regularly scheduled election in 2026. The winner of that election will complete the remainder of Price's term, extended to 2028 by a recent state law change. Candidates include Kwixuan Maloof, Scott Tsui, Ursula Jones Dickson, and Amilcar 'Butch' Ford, who all have experience with the Alameda County office
