Five players scored in double figures to pace Class 2A No. 2 ranked Providence Christian to a 64-32 rout of Samson in high school boys basketball action on Tuesday night. The Eagles improved to 19-2 and 4-0 in 2A, Area 2 play with the win. Pearce Boone had 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two block shots to lead PCS. Luke Strickland and Logan Hagler both had 11 points and EB Joye and Henry Parsons had 10 points each.

Hagler and Strickland both had five rebounds and Hagler added four assists as did Cas Boone. Enterprise 34, J.A.G. 32Enterprise survived a last-second missed shot by the Jaguars to earn the Class 7A, Area 3 win on the road in Montgomery. Tucker Wadsworth had 15 points to lead Enterprise (14-5, 3-1). Northside Methodist 56, Wicksburg 51The Knights rallied from a 10-point third-quarter deficit to beat Wicksburg in a Class 3A, Area 3 game. Kyle Kirchhoff’s double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds lead NMA. Kingston Whaley and Reid Roberts added nine points each with Roberts also earning six rebounds. Carroll 70, Headland 43Michael Culver had 16 points and five rebounds, N’Jai Gosha had 13 points and 14 rebounds and Devon Pruitt had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Carroll, which also had 10 points from Jaylen Stuckey. Pete Reaves had 15 points and Jordan Kinsey 12 to lead Headland. Geneva 57, Ashford 56JJ King scored on a layup off a pass from Tayte Lothian to break a tie and put the Panthers up two and added a free throw with 10 seconds left before Ashford scored in the final seconds. Hunter Thompson led Geneva in the Class 4A, Area 2 win with 14 points and King scored 12. Kameron Seward followed with 11. Tylan Peterman had 15 points, Alex Swain 14 and Austin Tyler 10 for Ashford. Cottonwood 63, Geneva County 43Jay Garrett had 25 points and Karnelius Miree 21 to lead Cottonwood in a Class 2A, Area 2 contest. Tony Cortes and Brannon Turner had eight points each for Geneva County. Abbeville 51, Ariton 40Class 2A No. 3 ranked Abbeville downed Ariton in a Class 2A, Area 4 battle on Tuesday, improving to 16-3 overall and to 4-0 in area play. Alec Spann had 21 points and Ahmod Billins 17 to pace the Yellowjackets. Ariton fell to 9-8 overall and 0-3 in area. G.W. Long 59, Barbour County 52Preston Williams had 23 points and Jeremiah Hairston nine to lead G.W. Long (14-6, 2-1) to the Class 2A, Area 4 win. ReaQuan Hill had 15 points and Javarius Peterson 14 for Barbour County. Dale County 66, Daleville 42Junior Smith had 31 points and 17 rebounds and Jaylen McGhee had 16 points and five steals to lead Dale County. Isaak Testerman had 12 points to lead Daleville. Russell County 58, Rehobeth 54Elijah Holmes had 16 points, Caden Wright 15 and Antonio Potter 12 points for Rehobeth (10-11, 0-4) in the Class 6A, Area 3 game. Opp 49, Pike County 42DJ Hines earned 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals and Damirian Thompson had 16 points to lead Opp (9-10, 1-3) in the Class 4A, Area 4 win. Pike County was led by Khalil Foster with 11 points and J.P. Pierson with nine points. New Brockton 50, Straughn 47Anthony Silar had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead New Brockton to a Class 4A, Area 4 win over Straughn. The Gamecocks improved to 9-10 overall and 3-0 in the area. Charles Henderson 64, Greenville 29Cody Cross had 22 points, most off seven 3-pointers, and Kam Christian had 14 to lead Charles Henderson in the Class 5A, Area 3 win. Goshen 59, Zion Chapel 41Ahmad Rogers had 12 points and 10 rebounds and both JuMari Flowers and Samuel Adams had 11 points for Goshen. Brodie Stinson had 23 points and Joseph LeGear had 12 points for Zion Chapel. Brantley 86, Kinston 39Five players scored in double figures to lead Brantley, led by Michael Thompson’s 18 points and Fred Bogen’s 15 points. Jayden Parks and Jon Harper Kilcrease had 14 points and Julius Sylvester had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Brantley (15-2). For Kinston, Jon Simmons had 16 points and Tucker Marler and Zavory Stanley had seven points each. Abbeville Christian 94, Crenshaw Christian 39 Jayden Buckhannon had 33 points and Blake Cooper 10 points to lead ACA in the AISA Class A, Region 1, Area 2 game. Hunter Reynolds and Bricen Davis both had 10 points and Morgan Sanders added eight for the Generals, who improved to 10-5 overall and to 3-0 in the area. Junior Varsity Providence Christian 43, Samson 21Jackson Hughes had 11 points to lead PCS, which had 10 players score in the win. Wicksburg 42, Northside Methodist 34For Northside Methodist, Bentley Whitehurst had 10 points and nine rebounds and Collins Martin and Brody Harbuck had six points each.
